Grading Scale

Grading Scale.   The mark for each course will be entered on the student’s record by a letter grade which has a numerical equivalent as follows:

Grade Point Average.  Grade points are established by multiplying the semester hours of the course by the numerical equivalent of the course grade. A grade point average for the semester is computed by dividing the total number of grade points by the total number of semester hours. The minimum requirement for the Bachelor of Arts degree is a grade point average of 2.00, computed on the courses used for credit towards the degree.

The letter grade “I” (Incomplete) does not refer to the quality of the student’s work but to the fact that he has failed to take the required examinations or do the prescribed readings or papers. If not removed, the “I” appears as “NC” on the transcript.
