Admission Requirements

Faculty of Arts

Bachelor of Arts Program

The normal academic requirement for admission to the Faculty of Arts is graduation from Grade 12 on a university entrance program. A student who does not have this standing and who, after being out of school for a number of years, wishes to become a priest, may apply as a mature student. Each application will be considered on its own merits.

Faculty of Theology

Bachelor of Theology Program

The Bachelor of Theology program includes the possibility of an Honors year, with degree requirements listed below. Students in the Bachelor of Theology program also receive the Master of Divinity diploma when they have fulfilled its requirements.

  1. A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Arts
  2. A minimum of eighteen undergraduate semester hours in Philosophy.

The Seminary Admissions Committee may require the student to take some courses in the Pre-Theology program to make up for deficiencies in such subjects as English, Latin, History and Sociology.

Master of Divinity Program

  1. A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Arts.

The Seminary Admissions Committee may waive the BA requirement if the student satisfies the other requirements for entering the M.Div. Program and has been in seminary residence for at least two years as an Arts or Pre-Theology student.

  1. A minimum of eighteen undergraduate semester hours in Philosophy.

The Seminary Admissions Committee may require the student to take some courses in the Pre-Theology program to make up for deficiencies in such subjects as English, Latin, History and Sociology.
